Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why choose Studio 28? What makes this studio the right fit for my child?

Studio 28 is built on the belief that every dancer belongs. Our mission is to create an inclusive, body-positive, and uplifting space where dancers of all levels, ages, and abilities can thrive.

We focus on strong foundational technique to help every dancer develop an elite skill set, without the pressure of a competitive environment.

Every dancer gets a chance to shine, gain confidence, and express themselves authentically. If your goal is to see your child grow, have fun, and build lasting friendships in a stress-free space, Studio 28 is the place to be.

  • What should my dancer wear and bring to class?

At Studio 28, we’re all about body-positivity, so whatever your dancer feels their best in is exactly what they should wear! Our only rule is comfort and movement: no jeans or restrictive clothing, please.

Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz: Socks, ballet shoes, or jazz shoes.

Hip Hop: Clean running shoes or sneakers.

    Tap: Tap shoes are required.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle, the appropriate dance shoes, and most importantly, a ready-to-dance attitude!

  • How do I know which group my child fits into?

Visit our REGISTRATION tab to see a breakdown of our age groups: Mini, Junior, Intermediate, Advanced, and Senior. Each has the age range clearly listed beside it.

Once you find your child’s age, you’ll know exactly which group they belong in.

If you’re still unsure, reach out and we’ll be happy to guide you!

  • My child has never danced before. How do I know which style they’ll like?

Start by checking out our STYLES tab for descriptions of all the classes we offer. Then, think about what excites your child most!

    - If they’re drawn to learning turns, jumps, and extensions, they might love Jazz, Ballet, or Contemporary.

    - If they love rhythm, musicality, and groove, then Hip Hop or Tap could be the perfect match.

Our teachers are always happy to chat and help you find the right fit for your dancer’s personality and goals.

  • It’s already past September, can I still register my dancer for the year?

Absolutely! We love welcoming new faces into our Studio 28 family. Dancers can join throughout the year; however, starting in January, classes begin working on choreography for our year-end recital.

Joining mid-January or later might mean a little extra effort to catch up, but we’ll support your dancer every step of the way. To register after our season start date, simply contact us directly so we can find the best option for you.

  • I have a unique question that isn’t listed here.

We’ve got you covered! Send us an email or give us a call using the details on our CONTACT tab, and we’ll get back to you right away.
